Pakistan Women’s Cricket Team Gears Up for New Zealand Series in Christchurch

Christchurch, The Pakistan women’s cricket team, led by captain Nida Dar, has commenced their training in Christchurch, New Zealand, in preparation for the upcoming T20I and ODI series against the host nation. The team’s training session took place at Bert Sutcliffe Oval in Lincoln University.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board, under the supervision of interim head coach Mauhtashim Rashid, conducted a three-hour training session. The series, which runs from December 3 to 18, includes three T20Is and three ODIs, with the latter being part of the ICC Women’s Championship 2022-25. Pakistan currently stands with 14 points from 15 matches in the championship.

The series matches will take place in Dunedin, Queenstown, and Christchurch. Prior to the commencement of the official series, the Pakistan women’s team will participate in two practice games against New Zealand XI. These matches will be live-streamed on the New Zealand YouTube channel, providing fans with an opportunity to follow the action.

Among the team members, 27-year-old Umm-e-Hani, who debuted in ODI against Ireland and T20I against South Africa earlier this year, is traveling to New Zealand for the first time. She has already made a mark by taking 11 wickets from 13 international matches. Umm-e-Hani shared her enthusiasm for the series and the importance of the practice matches in adapting to New Zealand’s conditions.

The Pakistan women’s cricket team is looking forward to a competitive series, with the players aiming to adjust to the different playing conditions and improve their skills for the upcoming matches. The series schedule includes 50-over and T20 warm-up matches, followed by three T20Is and three ODIs, with the first T20I scheduled for December 3 in Dunedin.
