Islamabad, In a significant political development, former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ghulam Murtaza Satti and several others have joined the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), marking a notable shift in the political landscape of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
According to Pakistan Peoples Party, Ghulam Murtaza Satti, along with Ghulam Younis Satti, Abid Majeed, Mustafa Latif Satti, and Saqib Satti, announced their decision to join the PPP during a meeting with PPP Parliamentarians President, Asif Ali Zardari, at Zardari House Islamabad. President Zardari welcomed the new members and expressed confidence in the PPP’s prospects in the upcoming elections in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, highlighting the historical significance and dedication of the PPP activists in these regions.
Additionally, a delegation from the Mashaikh Ittehad Council Pakistan also met with President Zardari and pledged support for the PPP’s candidates. They committed to actively participate in the election campaign of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in NA-127 Lahore and support the party’s candidates nationwide. The delegation included prominent religious figures like Sajjadah Nashin Jhandi Sharif Pir Mahmood Ahmad Abbasi, Pir Muhammad Ehsan Danish of Bhalwal, and several others.
During the meeting, Pir Mahmood Ahmad Abbasi invited President Zardari to visit his Khanqah, an invitation that President Zardari accepted, indicating his intention to visit soon. This meeting underscores the PPP’s efforts to broaden its support base and strengthen its position ahead of the elections, drawing support from diverse sectors including former political opponents and influential religious leaders.
