ISLAMABAD, A recent survey by Gallup and Gilani Pakistan indicates that among the Pakistanis who are familiar with the Pink Eye Virus, a significant portion correctly identified redness of eyes and watering of eyes as primary symptoms.
According to Gallup and Gilani Pakistan, from a nationally representative sample of adult men and women, participants who were aware of the Pink Eye Virus, locally referred to as “Aashoob-e-Chashm”, were inquired about their understanding of its symptoms. The survey results showed that 74% identified ‘redness of eyes’, while 61% pointed to ‘watering of eyes’ as symptoms. Additionally, 47% of the participants mentioned ‘itching in eyes’, 36% recognized ‘pain in eyes’ as a symptom, and 11% were unsure or did not provide a response.
