PUNE, The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 Event Technical Committee has approved New Zealand cricketer Kyle Jamieson as a replacement for Matt Henry, who sustained a right hamstring injury.
According to International Cricket Council, the change was necessitated after Henry was injured during a match against South Africa in Pune on Wednesday. Jamieson, who has participated in 13 One Day Internationals (ODIs), will join the squad following the approval process mandated by the Event Technical Committee, which includes members such as Wasim Khan (ICC General Manager – Cricket and Chair of the Event Technical Committee), Chris Tetley (ICC Head of Events), and representatives from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), among others.
The committee’s approval is required for any player replacement in the tournament. This regulatory process ensures that changes to a team’s roster are managed with consistency and fairness during ICC events.
