Karachi Golfers Rally for Emergency Healthcare at Fast Cables-Indus Hospital Golf Tournament

Karachi, golfing community including prominent members from Pakistan’s leading corporations, gathered for a noble cause at the Fast Cables-Indus Hospital Annual Golf Tournament 2023, held at the esteemed Karachi Golf Club. This year’s event aimed to support Emergency Services, recognizing the critical need for advanced emergency care systems in Pakistan.

According to The Indus Hospital, the tournament brought together sportsmanship and philanthropy, with a focus on bolstering emergency healthcare services. Since 2007, Indus Hospital & Health Network (IHHN) has grown into Pakistan’s most extensive private healthcare network, including 15 hospitals and numerous other healthcare facilities. The golf tournament is a testament to the Karachi golf community’s dedication to providing free, quality healthcare to over half a million patients monthly across IHHN’s facilities.

The tournament highlighted IHHN’s significant expansion of the Korangi Campus, transforming a 300-bed facility into a 1350-bed state-of-the-art hospital, aiming to meet the increasing healthcare demands of Pakistan. The event was graced by the Interim Minister for Education, Sindh, Ms. Rana Hussain, as the Chief Guest.

Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, President of IHHN, expressed his gratitude to the golfing community through a video address, acknowledging their vital role in supporting IHHN’s mission of delivering cost-free quality healthcare. Syed Mashhood Rizvi, Executive Director of Communications & Resource Development at IHHN, introduced the ‘Indus Shakireen’ initiative, encouraging ongoing donations to support the network’s efforts.

Mr. Abdul Karim Paracha, Chairman of the Board at IHHN and an avid golfer, spoke about the unique fusion of sports and philanthropy, underscoring the golf community’s role in supporting IHHN’s emergency services. Mr. Salim Razak Tabani, Chairman of the Resource Generation Committee at IHHN, expressed appreciation for the golfing community and sponsors’ support.

The event concluded with Mr. Rizvi thanking the participants, title sponsor Fast Cables, and other corporate sponsors for their contributions to the success of the tournament. Since its inception in 2016, the IHHN Golf Tournament has become a key event in Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad, uniting the corporate sector and golfing community in supporting healthcare initiatives in Pakistan.
