Karachi Cleric Urges Renewed Focus on Islamic Teachings and Official Recognition of Palestine Solidarity Day

Karachi, Maulana Abdul Majid Farooqui, Provincial President of the Peace Council Sindh and the principal of Madrasa Taleem-ul-Quran, during a discussion with colleagues, highlighted the disconnection of Muslims from Islamic teachings and reiterated the call for the official observance of Palestine Solidarity Day by the government.

According to Maulana Abdul Majid Farooqui, who is also the Imam and speaker of Al-Khalil Mosque in Bhattai Abad, Gulistan-e-Johar, the adherence to Islamic teachings could enable Muslims to govern the world; however, he expressed concern over the fading practice of these teachings among Muslims. Despite the Prophet Muhammad’s guidance on Muslim unity, Farooqui noted that Muslim nations are lost in misguidance and are not advocating for the oppressed Palestinians in Gaza as they should, allowing for the continued blatant aggression by Israeli forces. On this occasion, Farooqui once again demanded the Government of Pakistan to formally commemorate Palestine Solidarity Day to express unity with Palestinians.
