Karachi: Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, addressed a workers’ convention in Peshawar, announcing the party’s intent to actively participate in the upcoming General Elections. He highlighted the series of workers’ conventions starting from the Hazara and Mardan divisions, now extending to Peshawar, emphasizing the importance of such gatherings for the party’s ‘Jiyalas’ to express themselves. According to PPPP, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari reminisced about the success of the historic Foundation Day gathering in Peshawar and announced the upcoming Foundation Day celebration in Quetta, Balochistan. He praised the dedication and loyalty of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa workers, noting their commitment to the ideals of ‘Bhuttoism’, a philosophy symbolizing service to people, denouncing elitism, and striving for rights based on the party’s principles. The chairman condemned the concept of political U-turns, positioning the PPP as steadfast in its ideology, emphasizing ‘Islam as our religion, Socialism as our economy, and People as the source of power’. He recalled the legacies of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, emphasizing their unwavering commitment in the face of adversity. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari asserted that the PPP’s true opponents are inflation, unemployment, and poverty, and stressed the need for people’s support to address these challenges. He criticized other political parties for failing to deliver on their promises and highlighted the PPP’s history of striving for the people’s welfare. The chairman expressed pride in his performance as part of the previous government, particularly in addressing the catastrophic floods and mobilizing international support. He emphasized the need for a ‘Jiyala’ as Prime Minister and Chief Minister to fully serve the people, highlighting initiatives like the Benazir Income Support Programme and plans to introduce a ‘Kissan Card’ for farmers and a ‘Benazir Mazdoor Card’ for laborers. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari further spoke about expanding the ‘2 million houses’ project to address housing issues in neglected slums. He contrasted the PPP’s approach to health services in Sindh with the health card scheme in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, promising to establish hospitals of international standards in the province. Concluding, he reflected on the political challenges faced by the PPP, asserting the party’s readiness to compete in the elections and emphasizing the need for a new political approach to address the concerns of the younger generation. He envisioned a future where the PPP, guided by the principles of its founding leaders, would lead Pakistan towards becoming a modern and powerful nation.

Karachi: Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi, President of the International Islamic University (IIU), welcomed H.E. Professor Dr. Ahmad Salem Muhammad Al-Ameri, Pro-Chancellor of IIU and President of Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud University, at the new campus of IIU in Karachi.

According to IIUI, During the visit, Dr. Alotaibi provided an overview of IIUI’s recent achievements, outlining the university’s performance, innovative initiatives, vision, and strategic plans. He also shared details about the preparations for the 12th convocation of the university, highlighting the accomplishments of various faculties.

Professor Al-Ameri expressed appreciation for the progress and academic excellence achieved by IIUI under the current leadership. He acknowledged the university’s direction as a result of effective management policies. On this occasion, he assured to extend maximum support for academic excellence and the exchange of delegations between IIUI and Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud University in Riyadh.
