Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan Criticizes Government’s Congratulations to Modi

Lahore, Dr. Sahibzada Abul Khair Muhammad Zubair, President of Jamiat Ulema Pakistan and the National Unity Council, has voiced strong criticism of the Pakistani government’s decision to congratulate Narendra Modi on his reappointment as the Prime Minister of India. This action is a disservice to the sacrifices of millions of Kashmiris and mocks their struggles.

According to Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan, Dr. Zubair highlighted the contradiction in the government’s stance, noting that while officials label Modi as a perpetrator against Muslims, they continue to extend warm diplomatic gestures towards him. This behavior, he argued, is particularly offensive given the ongoing conflicts and human rights issues in Kashmir, where local populations are often labeled as terrorists and subjected to severe repression.

Dr. Zubair warned that such diplomatic engagements could be seen as a betrayal to the Kashmiri people, who have long suffered under oppressive conditions. He stressed that the blood of the Kashmiri martyrs should not be disregarded through political gestures that seem to prioritize diplomatic relations over human rights and justice.

The strong statements from the leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan call into question the balance between diplomatic necessity and the moral imperative to support oppressed populations, particularly in the context of Kashmir.
