Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Leaders Condemn FC Actions in Chaman, Announce Support for Strike


Chaman, Leaders from Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Theoretic Balochistan, including Amir Maulana Abdul Qadir Loni and District Amir Chaman Maulana Ahmed Khan, have issued a strong condemnation against the Frontier Corps (FC) for its recent actions in Perlat, Chaman. They accused the FC of exacerbating local tensions through excessive force and desecration of bodies. The religious leaders have declared their support for a community-wide strike in protest against the ongoing border closure that has persisted for seven months.



According to Jamiat Ulema Islam, the group articulated serious concerns regarding the “deliberate worsening of the situation” by the FC, leading to civilian casualties and a coercive atmosphere that has spurred strikes and protests. They also extended their solidarity with the affected families and emphasized the need for a united response against the government’s oppressive measures.



The statement highlighted the significant hardships faced by the residents of Chaman due to the prolonged border closure, noting the severe impact on their daily lives. The leaders warned that continued government inaction on this pressing issue could have grave consequences, placing the responsibility for any further deterioration of the situation squarely on the shoulders of the current government and state institutions.



The religious leaders are urging the government to acknowledge and address the grievances of Chaman’s populace, advocating for a revised approach to prevent further destabilization of the area. They called for immediate actions to alleviate the suffering of the local residents and to restore peace and normalcy in the region.
