Lahore, Jamaat-e-Islami’s leader, Hafiz Naeemur Rahman, has outlined a series of actions and stances in response to both global injustices and domestic challenges, following a recent meeting of the party’s Standing Committee for Political Affairs.
According to Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, the meeting opened with tributes to the late Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi and other officials who died in a helicopter crash, recognizing Raisi’s efforts towards the unity of the Muslim Ummah and strengthening Pakistan-Iran relations. The committee also discussed extensive plans for mobilizing public resistance against what it views as pro-American ruling policies, economic strategies shaped by the IMF, and various social injustices affecting the country.
The Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami expressed concerns over the alleged manipulation of the political landscape, citing a loss of law and justice, increased incidents of terrorism, and the mismanagement of social media laws. He emphasized the party’s role in voicing the plight of the oppressed, including the people of Palestine and Kashmir, underlining that Jamaat-e-Islami considers itself a global movement standing with oppressed communities worldwide.
The plans include mass mobilization to address inflation, unemployment, and lawlessness, with a specific call to the youth and women of Pakistan to join the anticipated movement. The meeting highlighted a unified stance against external influences perceived to be detrimental to Pakistan’s sovereignty and the well-being of its citizens.
