Islamabad, The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) has achieved a position within the 1001-1200 band in the QS World University Rankings for 2025. This placement marks a significant improvement from its previous ranking in the 1201-1400 range for 2022 and 2023.
According to International Islamic University Islamabad, this advancement in the QS World University Rankings is a result of several key reforms and initiatives implemented under the guidance of IIUI President Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi. These reforms include the strategic plan for 2022-26, which has been systematically applied to enhance the university’s academic and administrative functions. The university was also ranked 249th in the QS Asia University Rankings for 2024 and 49th in the QS Southern Asia University Rankings.
In addition to its overall ranking, IIUI has been recognized in specific academic disciplines. It ranks among the top 51-100 universities globally for Theology, Divinity and Religious Studies, and between 351-400 for Mathematics. For the first time, it also placed in the 601-640 range for Physics.
Rector Dr. Samina Malik and President Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi expressed their gratitude towards the academic and administrative staff for their dedication, which has contributed significantly to these achievements. They also acknowledged the efforts of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, Vice President of Research and Enterprise, and Prof. Rehmat Ellahi, Director of the Quality Assurance Department, for their roles in improving the university’s ranking.
