Karachi: A delegation of senior civil servants from Bangladesh was welcomed at the Arts Council of Pakistan in Karachi, where a grand cultural night was organized to honor their visit. The event aimed to promote cultural relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh, showcasing a blend of traditional and contemporary performances from both nations.
According to Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, the Bangladeshi delegation, led by Additional Secretary Health Services Division Salma Siddiqua Mehtab, was warmly received by the Arts Council’s President, Mohammad Ahmed Shah. The evening featured a variety of performances, including Sindhi folk music by renowned Alghoza player Akbar Khamiso Khan and a Bharatanatyam dance by Mani Chao, Head of the Dance Academy. Students of the Arts Council also presented Pakistani contemporary dances, captivating the audience. The event included music from both countries, a violin solo, and various cultural dances, which the audience enthusiastically applauded.
The program was attended by several dignitaries, including Director General NIPA Dr. Saif-ur-Rehman, who praised the efforts of Arts Council President Mohammad Ahmed Shah for organizing the event. He highlighted the role of the Arts Council in promoting art and culture, noting that it provides a platform for the expression of diverse cultural and artistic talents. The event concluded with Mohammad Ahmed Shah presenting a traditional Sindhi Ajrak and a bouquet to Salma Siddiqua Mehtab, while Dr. Saif-ur-Rehman presented a shield to Shah for his contributions to cultural promotion.
