Sargodha: The University of Sargodha hosted the ICSF-UOS Fellowship Award Ceremony, highlighting the strengthening academic collaboration between Pakistan and China. The event, organized by the Pakistan Institute of China Studies in collaboration with several partner institutions, emphasized the growing scholarly engagement between the two nations.
According to University of Sargodha, the fellowship program included participation from 11 academic departments and produced over 100 research publications. Out of 77 shortlisted participants, 45 completed the program and received certificates. The initiative was designed to promote research excellence, innovation, and cross-cultural understanding.
Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director of the Pakistan Research Center for a Community with Shared Future, underscored the significance of building a “shared future” through academic cooperation. Prof. Dr. Tahir Mumtaz Awan, Director of the Pakistan Institute of China Studies, provided an overview of the fellowship, noting its role in enhancing research capacity and analytical skills.
In a video message, Dr. Li Huiliang, Director of the Institute for a Community with Shared Future at the Communication University of China, praised the joint efforts of partner institutions and expressed commitment to expanding academic partnerships with Pakistani universities.
The ceremony featured participants sharing their experiences and a cultural segment with Chinese songs, reflecting the deepening cultural ties between Pakistan and China. Prof. Dr. Amir Ali, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, attended as the chief guest and distributed certificates, commending the organizers for offering meaningful academic opportunities.
The event concluded with a renewed commitment to strengthening Pakistan-China cooperation in education, research, and cultural exchange, reinforcing long-term academic partnerships.
