Lahore: The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore has initiated a six-week Employee Wellness Fitness Program at its New Campus. The program is designed to improve the physical health and mental well-being of faculty and staff, thereby boosting workplace productivity. Running from May 4 to June 11, 2026, the program features sessions during break hours, allowing for convenient participation.
According to University of Engineering and Technology, the program is part of an initiative by the Continuing Engineering Education and Training Center (CEETC) at UET Lahore. It focuses on four thematic areas: Balance and Core Fitness, Back Care and Posture Training, Functional Strength Training, and Stress Relief and Flexibility. The inaugural ceremony took place on May 5, 2026, with Prof. Dr. Amjad Hussain, Campus Coordinator, as the Chief Guest. Distinguished guests from the Pakistan Engineering Council Re-Accreditation Evaluation Team attended as Guests of Honour, expressing their support and intention to encourage similar initiatives in their institutions.
The program, led by fitness professional Mr. Abbas Ali, has enrolled fifteen participants in its first batch and ensures safe participation for individuals of varying fitness levels. Future expansions include a second batch for female colleagues and a seminar series on health, fitness, and lifestyle management. The initiative aims to extend participation opportunities to all university employees in subsequent phases.
