Islamabad, The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) will temporarily close its campuses from January 23 to January 26 amid heightened security alerts in the capital. The closure is a precautionary response to recent threats to educational institutions in the area.
According to International Islamic University Islamabad, Prof. Dr. Samina Malik, the Rector of IIUI, has issued directives for the implementation of foolproof security measures across the university’s campuses. The decision follows recent concerns about security threats to educational institutions in the twin cities, which have been widely reported on electronic and social media. The university’s administration is taking proactive steps to ensure the safety of its students and staff.
In a meeting held at the Rector’s office, Vice President Prof. Dr. Abdul Raheman briefed Dr. Malik on the current security situation and the university’s response. Attendees included Mr. Inam Ul Haq, Director of Administration/Works; Security Consultant Brig. Muhammad Saleem Khan; Chief Security Officer Col. Rtd. Muhammad Athar; Dr. Humaira Ashfaq, Provost of Female Hostels; and Mr. Sajjad Siddiqui, Director of the Female Campus.
The meeting focused on enhancing security at the university’s entry and exit points and maintaining a peaceful environment on campus. Dr. Malik emphasized that the administration is dedicated to providing a secure setting for all university activities and that every effort would be made to maintain a serene atmosphere.
The temporary closure of IIUI is a reflection of the broader security concerns in Islamabad, as the university takes a vigilant stance to protect its community.
