IIUI Hosts Training Workshops to Bolster Academic Skills in Research and Data Analysis

Islamabad, The Faculty of Education at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) has launched a series of training workshops aimed at enhancing the academic capabilities of its students, focusing on the latest educational skills and tools, including artificial intelligence and data analysis techniques.

According to International Islamic University Islamabad, the initiative included specialized sessions such as a workshop on Proposal Writing, led by Dr. Zarina Akhtar, and another on academic writing using ChatGPT, conducted by Dr. Muhammad Sherbaz. These workshops are designed to prepare students for writing effective research proposals and utilizing AI tools like ChatGPT for academic writing and research. The Proposal Writing workshop provided a comprehensive guide to writing a research proposal, covering everything from one-page summaries to detailed synopses with practical examples.

Additionally, a significant focus was placed on Data Cleaning and Data Analysis using ChatGPT versions 4 and 3.5, targeting MS and PhD students. This session, led by Dr. Sher Baz Ali, aimed to enhance the students’ skills in managing and analyzing data, critical components in their academic research activities. The training was praised by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Sarwar, Dean of the Faculty of Education, for its effectiveness in equipping students with necessary technological and analytical skills.

Parallel to these technical workshops, the Department of Teacher Education also organized a study tour to the Islamic Research Institute (IRI) for students of B.Ed Elementary Education. This excursion, led by Dr. Fouzia Ajmal and Ms. Sehrish Niazi, aimed to integrate practical knowledge of the Islamic education system into the students’ learning experience. During the tour, students interacted with scholars and explored key facilities such as the Dr. Hamidullah Library and the IRI Gallery and Printing Press, enhancing their understanding of Islamic education.

The series of workshops and the study tour underline IIUI’s commitment to providing a holistic educational experience that combines academic rigor with practical exposure to advance students’ knowledge and skills in contemporary research and Islamic education.
