Islamabad, The International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) hosted a vibrant Open House event where engineering students showcased approximately 100 innovative projects. The event, organized by the Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET), took place on Wednesday at the university’s new campus.
According to International Islamic University Islamabad, the Open House was inaugurated by the IIUI Rector, Prof. Dr. Samina Malik, who emphasized the importance of strengthening ties between academia and the industry. Prof. Dr. Malik commended the students on their innovative solutions, particularly in areas like AI-based technologies and solar energy, highlighting their potential to address critical national issues like power shortages.
The projects displayed included solar power solutions tailored for farming, automobiles, and hospitals, as well as AI-based vertical farming kits, health-related devices, smart energy meters, water distribution systems, and grid-tie inverters. These initiatives were presented to visitors, including industry representatives, invigilators, and the chief guest, demonstrating the practical applications of the students’ theoretical knowledge.
The event was well attended by university officials including the Vice President for Research and Enterprise, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, and Dean FET, Dr. Khan Zeb Jadoon, along with heads of departments and deans of various faculties. The Open House also attracted interest from numerous entrepreneurs, industrial experts, and investors, who engaged with the students to discuss the feasibility and market potential of their projects.
