IIUI Awards Degrees and Gold Medals at 12th Convocation

Islamabad, The International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI), in its 12th convocation, awarded a total of 26992 degrees and 484 gold medals to its graduates. The event, spanning two days, saw female students receiving degrees and gold medals from H.E. Dr. Ahmed Salem Muhammad Al-Ameri, Pro-Chancellor of IIUI and President of Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University.

According to International Islamic University, the second day of the convocation was particularly noteworthy with 147 gold medals presented to female students. The university’s achievement in graduating 26992 students, including 12817 male and 14715 female graduates, was highlighted. Additionally, 739 PhD degrees were conferred to both male and female students during the event.

The Pro-Chancellor, in his address, congratulated the graduates and appreciated the initiatives taken by IIUI President, Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi. He remarked on the significant ties between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, emphasizing the importance placed on these relations by His Majesty King Salman Bin Abdulaziz and His Royal Highness Princess Mohammed Bin Salman. The Saudi government’s commitment to educational scholarships and strengthening bilateral ties with educational institutions worldwide was also mentioned.

The Pro-Chancellor called for depoliticization of educational institutions and urged faculty to produce skilled youth infused with Islamic teachings. He emphasized the need for research and learning from global experiences.

Rector IIUI, Dr. Samina Malik, praised the graduates for their hard work and commitment. She outlined IIUI’s efforts in modernizing its curriculum across 11 faculties and introducing new branches of science. She acknowledged the support of the Saudi government and the role of Dr. Hathal Hamoud Alotaibi in improving the university’s national and international rankings.

IIUI President Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi elaborated on the 2022-26 Strategic Plan, highlighting initiatives to modernize teaching processes and the implementation of electronic systems in university management. He thanked Dr. Ahmed Salem Muhammad Al-Ameri for his participation and support.

Vice President Academics, Prof Dr. Abdul Raheman, expressed gratitude towards the IIUI leadership, faculty, staff, and students for their efforts in making the convocation a success.
