ICC Praises BCCI for Hosting Record-Breaking Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023

Dubai, The International Cricket Council (ICC) has expressed gratitude to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for successfully hosting the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023, which has been the largest event of its kind in cricket history.

According to International Cricket Council, the World Cup, won by Australia against India, was held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the world’s largest cricket stadium. This edition of the World Cup set new records in terms of attendance and digital and broadcast reach, becoming the most attended ICC event ever. The event, spanning from October 5 to November 19 across ten cities, including Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Pune, and the warm-up venues of Guwahati and Thiruvananthapuram, was celebrated for its amalgamation of cricket passion and national pride.

ICC Chair Greg Barclay commended the BCCI for delivering a World Cup that enhanced the cricket experience for fans and acknowledged the efforts of the match officials and ICC staff in organizing the global event. He also congratulated Australia for their sixth Men’s Cricket World Cup win and thanked all the teams for contributing to the success of the tournament.
