Karachi, In a significant local event, Dr. Fowzia Siddiqui, chairperson of the Global Aafia Movement and a renowned neurophysician, inaugurated Dr. Aafia Siddiqui Park in Model Colony, Malir, dedicating the space in honor of her sister, who is currently detained in the United States.
According to Aafia Movement, the park’s opening was marked by a sizable turnout, reflecting strong community support for the detained scientist, Dr. Aafia Siddiqui. Dr. Fowzia Siddiqui used the occasion to voice the persistent calls for her sister’s release and to announce her upcoming visit to the U.S. to meet with Aafia. The ceremony was attended by local dignitaries, including Model Town Chairman Zafar Ahmad Khan and UC-5 Chairman Muhammad Talha Khan, who have shown solidarity by naming the park after Aafia Siddiqui, symbolizing her status as a beloved figure in Pakistan.
