Kot Addu, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), addressed a large public gathering in Kot Addu today, where he expressed gratitude to the party workers and media for braving harsh weather to attend the rally. The event was part of the PPP’s ongoing national election campaign that commenced in December.
According to Pakistan Peoples Party, Chairman Bilawal emphasized his unique position as the only politician in the country directly appealing to the people for their votes, in contrast to others seeking external support. As the grandson of Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, he reiterated the PPP’s foundational belief that the people are the ultimate source of power. He acknowledged the country’s current challenges, including a severe economic crisis, rising inflation, poverty, unemployment, and increasing threats of terrorism and international conspiracies. Chairman Bilawal expressed confidence in overcoming these crises with public support.
Chairman Bilawal underscored the PPP’s commitment to alleviating these issues through its 10-point economic charter. The agenda includes doubling incomes within five years, constructing three million houses for the poor with women holding ownership, providing 300 units of free electricity, and expanding the Benazir Income Support Programme with interest-free loans for women. He committed to serving the women of the country in memory of his late mother and promised the introduction of the ‘Benazir Kissan Card’ for farmers, ensuring financial support and crop insurance.
Addressing the youth, Chairman Bilawal announced the ‘Youth Card’ initiative, pledging financial support for job seekers and the establishment of youth centers equipped with libraries, internet, and sports facilities in every district. He highlighted the PPP’s achievements in healthcare in Sindh, including the establishment of NICVD in Karachi and a healthcare institution in Khairpur’s Gambat tehsil.
The Chairman emphasized the importance of the upcoming February 8 elections, urging the electorate to choose the PPP, the symbol of the arrow, to confront and overcome the nation’s challenges. He called on party workers to inform voters about the PPP’s 10-point agenda and rallied support for PPP candidates, including Raza Rabbani Khar, Muhammad Amjad Qureshi, Asif Khan Dasti, and others.
