Karachi, Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, marked the 9th anniversary of the Army Public School (APS) Peshawar massacre by paying homage to the victims and reiterating his commitment to eradicating extremism and terrorism in the country. In a somber reflection on the tragedy, he described the day as a dark moment in Pakistan’s history, with the impact of the event still deeply felt across the nation.
According to Pakistan People’s Party, Zardari, while commemorating the innocent lives lost in the massacre, expressed solidarity with the families of the victims. He emphasized his personal connection to the grief experienced by the families, drawing on his experience as the son of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. The PPP Chairman emphasized the party’s resolve to combat extremism and terrorism, stating that under his leadership, Pakistan would never have to endure such painful events again.
Highlighting past achievements, Zardari noted that the previous PPP government, led by President Asif Ali Zardari, had successfully combated terrorism in Swat. Looking forward, he pledged that the upcoming PPP government, should it be formed following the elections scheduled for February 8 next year, would fully implement the National Action Plan (NAP) to eradicate terrorism permanently.
