Karachi, ARY Communications has secured the media rights for the upcoming Pakistan men’s cricket series against New Zealand and the women’s series against the West Indies, as announced by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). These rights allow for the live broadcast of the matches on A Sports HD, enhancing access for Pakistani cricket fans to international cricket content.
According to Pakistan Cricket Board, the media rights agreement was reached following a transparent tender process, in line with PCB’s strategy to improve the quality of cricket broadcasting in the country. The deal includes the broadcast of five men’s Twenty20 Internationals between Pakistan and New Zealand from April 18 to April 27, and a women’s series featuring three One-Day Internationals and five T20 Internationals against the West Indies from April 18 to May 3.
This partnership not only marks a continuation of ARY Communications’ relationship with PCB, initiated in 2022 with the HBL Pakistan Super League rights but also signifies a 41% revenue increase from prior series involving these teams. The increased investment is seen as a step towards furthering cricket development in Pakistan.
Salman Iqbal, the founder and CEO of ARY Digital, emphasized the network’s commitment to showcasing premier sporting events, including these significant cricket series. Salman Naseer, PCB’s Chief Operating Officer, highlighted the alignment with PCB Chairman Mr. Mohsin Naqvi’s vision of providing quality sports broadcasting to fans, viewing this agreement as an enhancement of PCB’s brand and a beneficial venture for both parties.
ARY’s A Sports HD channel is known for broadcasting various prestigious sporting events, demonstrating a strong presence in sports media coverage internationally.
