Admiral Naveed Ashraf Highlights the Importance of Educated Youth at Iqra University Convocation in Karachi

Karachi, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of the Naval Staff, emphasized the significant role of educated youth in Pakistan’s future during the 21st Convocation of Iqra University. He acknowledged their potential in overcoming current challenges and paving the way for a prosperous future. The event, held at the PAF Museum, Karachi, celebrated the academic achievements of over 1100 graduates, with the awarding of degrees and gold medals to outstanding students in various disciplines.

According to Iqra University, the convocation recognized the efforts of PhD scholars, Master’s, and Bachelor’s students in computer science, engineering, and business administration. Distinguished guests including Mr. Naveed Lakhani, chairman of Hussain Lakhani Group, Ms. Erum Asad, chancellor, Prof. Dr. Nassar Ikram, vice-chancellor, and other notable figures from academia and industry attended the ceremony. Admiral Ashraf, serving as the Chief Guest, congratulated the graduates and gold medalists, praising the university for its significant contributions to higher education in Pakistan.

The Chief of Naval Staff also commended Iqra University for its investment in faculty development and its pursuit of teaching excellence, specifically noting the diploma of HE UK. In response, the Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Ikram, expressed gratitude for Admiral Ashraf’s presence, citing it as an inspiration for the graduates, parents, and staff. Dr. Ikram highlighted Iqra University’s 26th anniversary and its achievements in academics, research, and innovation. He proudly mentioned the university’s ranking among the top 75 in South Asia and number 1 in Pakistan for research paper citations as per the QS World University Rankings. Dr. Ikram also paid homage to the late Hunaid Lakhani, the university’s founder, for his contributions to quality education.
