Abrar Ahmed Sidelined from First Test Against Australia Due to Leg Injury

Karachi, In a recent development, Pakistani cricketer Abrar Ahmed has been ruled out of the upcoming first Test match against Australia, scheduled to start in Perth on 14 December. Ahmed experienced severe pain in his right leg near his knee during a first-class game against the Prime Minister XI, leading to his exit from the field.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board, an initial assessment by the medical team led to a provisional diagnosis for Ahmed, necessitating an MRI scan on the same day. Following the scan, it has been decided that Abrar will undergo an intervention in Perth this Monday. Post-intervention, he will continue his rehabilitation under the supervision of the team’s medical staff, focusing on his recovery.

While Ahmed has not been completely ruled out of the test series, his participation in future matches remains uncertain. The player’s wellbeing is a priority for both the current and future tours, and a further assessment before the second test will determine his availability for the remainder of the tour.

In response to this situation, Wahab Riaz, the chairman of the selection committee, has approved the inclusion of off-spinner Sajid Khan in the team. This decision was made following a request from the team management. Sajid Khan will travel to Perth as soon as his travel arrangements are finalized.
