University of Punjab to Host PhD Defense on Childlessness in Gujrat

Lahore, The Institute of Social and Cultural Studies at the University of Punjab will host the PhD public defense for Ms. Anila Iram, who has explored the sociological impacts of involuntary childlessness in the District of Gujrat.

According to University of the Punjab, the defense is scheduled for May 31, 2024, at 3:00 PM. Ms. Iram’s dissertation, titled “Involuntary Childlessness: An Investigation of Coping Strategies, Psychosocial Adjustment, and Quality of Life among Childless Couples in District Gujrat,” addresses critical issues faced by childless couples, including their coping mechanisms and the effects on their psychological well-being and quality of life.

The event, which will take place at the university’s Institute of Social and Cultural Studies, invites faculty members and scholars from various disciplines to engage with Ms. Iram’s findings and contribute to a broader understanding of the social dynamics at play in contexts of involuntary childlessness.
