Jamaat-e-Islami Leaders Discuss Challenges Facing Pakistan Railway Workers

Lahore, In a significant meeting, Sheikh Muhammad Anwar, President of the Pakistan Railway Premier Union, discussed the persistent challenges faced by railway workers with Liaquat Baloch, the Naib Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami.

According to Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Sheikh Muhammad Anwar briefed Liaquat Baloch on various issues impacting railway employees, including unpaid dues for retired workers and their widows, unresolved GP fund payments, and the lack of full gazetted holidays for several departments. Anwar highlighted that despite an increase in railway revenue, due in part to the hard work of its employees, many financial and administrative issues remain unaddressed.

Liaquat Baloch reiterated Jamaat-e-Islami’s historical support for resolving railway workers’ issues and assured continued advocacy. He commended the increase in railway revenue but stressed that this success should lead to better treatment of the workforce whose efforts were crucial to these financial gains.

Baloch called on the Chairman of the Railway and the Chief Executive Railway, Aamir Khan Baloch, to prioritize the resolution of these issues, particularly focusing on the immediate payment of dues to pensioners and the regularization of temporary employees.
