Karachi Heat Stroke Camps Offer Relief as Temperatures Soar

Karachi, Responding to the harsh summer heat, the JUP Youth Wing, under the guidance of Rao Abdul Rahman, has set up several heat stroke camps across Karachi to provide relief to citizens. The camps, located in strategic areas such as Main Garden West near Fatima Jinnah School and Ghulam Hussain Road near Jilani Mosque, offer cold water and syrup to those exposed to the sun.

According to Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan, the initiative led by various community leaders including Abdul Hasan Ashrafi and Asif Soomro in different parts of the city, aims to mitigate the effects of the extreme temperatures. The camps have been a boon for pedestrians and commuters, providing necessary hydration and advice on heat stroke prevention.

Rao Abdul Rahman, during his visit to the camps, emphasized the importance of taking precautions against the heat, particularly advising the vulnerable groups such as women, the elderly, and children to avoid unnecessary outings. He criticized the local electricity providers for frequent power outages, especially during the ongoing matriculation exams, describing the situation as detrimental to students’ well-being. Rahman called for accountability and urged immediate action to ensure stable power supply at critical times.
