Karachi, The Aga Khan University Institute for Educational Development (AKU-IED) in collaboration with the Centre for Social Justice (CSJ), Pakistan, conducted a policy dialogue aimed at addressing key challenges in educational policy through improved governance.
According to The Aga Khan University, the event featured a lineup of esteemed panelists including Dr. Riaz Ahmed Shaikh from SZABIST, Ms. Sadiqa Salahuddin of the Indus Resource Centre, and several other notable figures from academic and political spheres. The discussions focused on enhancing educational governance and outcomes, and crafting a policy roadmap for sustainable educational progress in Pakistan.
Professor Farid Panjwani, Dean of AKU-IED, highlighted the importance of transitioning from policy creation to effective implementation, stressing the need for robust stakeholder collaboration to bridge the gap between policy and practice. The dialogue was enriched by AKU-IED students’ analysis of educational manifestos, where they established parameters to evaluate and assess policy performance effectively.
The event concluded with optimistic remarks from Mr. Peter Jacob of CSJ, who expressed hope that the ongoing dialogue and recent government reforms would lead to substantial improvements in Pakistan’s educational standards.
