National Textile University Celebrates World Book and Copyright Day with Awareness Walk in Faisalabad

Faisalabad, National Textile University (NTU) hosted a celebration for World Book and Copyright Day on April 23, 2024, featuring an awareness walk in collaboration with the PASTIC Sub Center and the Advisor Students Office at NTU. The event highlighted the importance of books and reading in today’s digital age and aimed to foster a culture of literature appreciation among students and the community.

According to National Textile University, the event included remarks from Professor Dr. Zulfiqar Ali, Dean of the Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC), who emphasized the significance of books as a cornerstone for lifelong learning and cultural development. Mr. Muhammad Husnain, Additional Director of PASTIC Sub Center, Faisalabad, also spoke about the transformative power of reading and its role in shaping society.

The theme for this year’s event, translated as “May the world of books remain intact,” reflects the focus on promoting peace, hope, harmony, and knowledge through reading. The celebration also aligns with UNESCO’s vision to support knowledge societies that are inclusive and participatory.

The event saw participation from various educational and literary figures, including Dr. Zafar Javed, Dean of the School of Arts and Design, and Dr. Danish Mahmood Baitab, Director of Student Affairs. A large number of students from both NTU and local schools, as well as faculty and staff, took part in the awareness walk, demonstrating a community-wide commitment to reading and literacy.
