Director General Sports Punjab Chairs Zoom Meeting on Key Issues in Four Divisions


Lahore, Director General Sports Punjab, Dr. Asif Tufail, led an essential Zoom meeting to address critical matters concerning four divisions: Bahawalpur, DG Khan, Gujranwala, and Faisalabad. The meeting was convened at the National Hockey Stadium on Monday, with Deputy Director Attaur Rehman present in person, and Divisional Sports Officers, District Sports Officers, and Tehsil Sports Officers from the mentioned divisions participating via video link.



According to Sports Board Punjab, Key topics discussed during the meeting included the establishment of offices for Divisional Sports Officers (Dos), District Sports Officers (DSOs), and Tehsil Sports Officers (TSOs), budget utilization, pension cases, inquiries, and the number of sports facilities at the tehsil level.



Director General Sports Punjab, Dr. Asif Tufail, highlighted the approval of a Sports Endowment Fund worth Rs 2 billion as a significant development. He emphasized that a portion of the Sports Endowment Fund would be dedicated to the welfare of deserving players. Dr. Tufail explained that top-performing deserving players and veteran athletes would receive monthly stipends through a systematic process.



He also stressed that it would be the responsibility of each Tehsil Sports Officer to verify the eligibility of deserving players and veteran athletes for stipends. After thorough verification, the TSOs would forward stipend cases to the relevant District Sports Officers for further processing and execution.



The meeting aimed to address critical issues and streamline processes to support sports development and welfare in the region.
