LUMHS Jamshoro Hosts Opening Ceremony of All Pakistan InterVarsity Chess (Men) Championship 2023-24

Jamshoro, The All Pakistan InterVarsity Chess (Men) Championship 2023-24 commenced with its opening ceremony on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at the Sports Gymnasium of Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS) in Jamshoro. The event marks a significant gathering of chess enthusiasts from across the nation.

According to Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, the ceremony was graced by Prof. Dr. Ikram Din Ujjan, Vice Chancellor of LUMHS Jamshoro, as the Chief Guest, and Mr. Javed Ali Memon, Director/Incharge of Sports & Co-curricular Activities at the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Islamabad, as the Guest of Honor. This prestigious championship has attracted participation from 20 universities across Pakistan, showcasing the growing interest and talent in chess among the country’s youth.

Organized by the Directorate of Sports at LUMHS Jamshoro, the championship represents a significant platform for university students to demonstrate their strategic skills and compete at a high level.
