Lahore, Pakistan’s left-arm wrist-spinner, Sufiyan Muqeem, has undergone a successful operation on his left knee at a private hospital in Lahore. The 24-year-old cricketer, who has represented Pakistan in three T20Is at last year’s Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, is currently on the path to recovery.
According to Pakistan Cricket Board, PCB confirmed that Sufiyan was discharged from the hospital following the operation and was examined by the PCB medical panel, led by Dr. Sohail Saleem, at the National Cricket Academy. A re-examination by the surgeon is scheduled for three days post-operation, after which the PCB medical team will implement a rehabilitation plan tailored for Sufiyan’s recovery.
The PCB has taken responsibility for all of Sufiyan’s treatment expenses and will continue to support his rehabilitation process. Dr. Sohail Saleem, the Director of Medical and Sports Sciences, expressed optimism about Sufiyan’s recovery, noting that the cricketer was in good spirits following the surgery. He highlighted Sufiyan’s active participation in a three-week pre-rehabilitation program at the National Cricket Academy prior to the surgery, under the guidance of trainers and the medical panel.
The PCB’s commitment to Sufiyan’s recovery underscores the board’s support for its players’ health and fitness, ensuring that they return to the sport in optimal condition.
