Lahore, The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced the appointment of Mohammad Rizwan as the vice-captain of the Pakistan Men’s T20I cricket team. This significant appointment comes ahead of the team’s upcoming five-match T20I series against New Zealand.
According to Pakistan Cricket Board, Rizwan, aged 31, will serve as deputy to captain Shaheen Shah Afridi during the series in New Zealand, which is set to commence on January 12. Rizwan has an impressive track record in T20Is, having played 85 matches and scored 2,797 runs, including a century and 25 half-centuries. His wicket-keeping skills are also noteworthy, with 41 catches and 11 stumpings to his name.
In response to his appointment, Mohammad Rizwan expressed his gratitude and honor at being named the vice-captain of the national T20I side. He emphasized his eagerness to work collaboratively with the captain, coaching staff, and teammates to contribute to the team’s overall success.
The PCB also announced the full squad for the upcoming series, which includes Shaheen Shah Afridi as captain and Rizwan as vice-captain and wicket-keeper. Other team members include Aamir Jamal, Abbas Afridi, Azam Khan (wicket-keeper), Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, Haseebullah (wicket-keeper), Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Nawaz, Mohammad Wasim Jnr, Sahibzada Farhan, Saim Ayub, Usama Mir, and Zaman Khan.
