Lahore, The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore recently held a two-day international workshop focused on Small Animal Abdominal Ultrasound at the Intermediate Level. The event, which took place at the university’s City Campus, brought together veterinary professionals from across the country to enhance their skills in this specialized area.
According to University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, the workshop was a joint effort by UVAS’s Department of Theriogenology, Therio Graduate Club, and Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences. The inaugural session was presided over by Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Nasim Ahmad, with Prof Dr. Asim Khalid chairing the concluding session. The workshop featured 15 participants, including resource person Dr. Muhammad Waseem Aslam, a consultant with Modern Vet UAE and a UVAS alumnus.
During the inaugural ceremony, Prof Dr. Nasim Ahmad emphasized the importance of utilizing imaging modalities like ultrasound in daily clinical practice. The workshop aimed to provide intermediate-level training and techniques related to abdominal scanning in small animals, addressing a critical area of veterinary medicine.
This event marked the first international intermediate-level ultrasound workshop in Pakistan, underscoring UVAS’s commitment to advancing veterinary education and practice in the region. Participants, including veterinary professionals and practitioners, were awarded certificates, recognizing their involvement and skill enhancement in this specialized field.
