Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Addresses PPP Supporters in Lahore

Lahore, Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, conducted a series of corner meetings in his Lahore constituency, NA-127, speaking to supporters and outlining his party’s vision for the city and Pakistan.

According to Pakistan People’s Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari addressed gatherings at Peco Road Kot Lakhpat, Township, and General Hospital Metro Chowk on Sunday. He expressed his joy at being among the ‘jiyalas’ (party supporters) and encouraged them to spread the party’s message throughout the constituency.

During his speeches, Zardari emphasized Lahore’s historical significance to his family and the PPP, referring to it as the city of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. He challenged the notion that Lahore belongs to businessmen, traders, or sportsmen, asserting the city’s deep connections with his family and the PPP.

Zardari criticized rival political groups, accusing them of being impositions by various military generals over the years. He contrasted this with the PPP’s grassroots politics aimed at supporting the poor, laborers, and white-collar workers of the city.

The PPP Chairman outlined a 10-point economic agenda, promising to double salaries in five years, provide free electricity up to 300 units for the poor, ensure free education and quality health facilities, and introduce housing schemes with ownership rights for women. He also mentioned plans to regularize informal settlements, expand the Benazir Income Support Program, and introduce “Mazdoor Card”, “Kissan Card”, and “Youth Card”, along with a “Bhook Mitao” (Eradicate Hunger) Program.

Zardari expressed confidence in winning the upcoming election, positioning the PPP as a party representing the common people against traditional, elite politicians. He emphasized the need for a change in the country’s fate, highlighting PPP’s young leadership as an alternative to traditional politics.

The event concluded with Zardari motivating his supporters to represent him and the PPP in the upcoming elections, expressing confidence in their victory and the triumph of the people of Lahore.
