Pakistan Cricket Board Honors Wheelchair Cricket Team with Cash Prize for Asia Cup Victory

Lahore, The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has awarded a cash prize of PKR 3.6 million to the Pakistan Wheelchair Cricket Team in recognition of their victory at the T20 Wheelchair Cricket Asia Cup 2023 in Nepal. This gesture underscores PCB’s commitment to inclusivity and diversity in sports and celebrates the team’s remarkable achievement on an international platform.

According to Pakistan Cricket Board, the ceremony held on December 13, 2023, in Lahore, was presided over by Mr. Zaka Ashraf, Chairman of the PCB Management Committee. The event acknowledged the team’s excellent performance, which led to them becoming back-to-back champions of the T20 Wheelchair Cricket Asia Cup.

The Pakistan Wheelchair Cricket Team, along with PWCC Chairman Rukhsana Rajput, Manager Zawar Noor, Assistant Manager Javed Babar, and team captain Mohammad Zeeshan, were lauded for their outstanding skills and dedication. Mr. Ashraf, in his address to the Asia Cup-winning squad, expressed his heartfelt congratulations and pride in the team’s global representation of Pakistan. He emphasized PCB’s continued support, including the provision of more grounds and training facilities for the team.

The COO of PCB, Mr. Salman Naseer, also extended his congratulations, acknowledging the team as ambassadors of Pakistan. He praised their resilience and courage, which led to their successive wins at the Asia Cup, reflecting the spirit and potential of athletes with disabilities in Pakistan.
