Islamabad, In a prestigious convocation ceremony, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) has awarded a total of 26992 degrees and 484 gold medals to its graduates, with female students receiving their accolades in the second session of the event.
According to International Islamic University, Islamabad, the Pro-Chancellor of IIUI, Dr. Ahmed Salem Muhammad Al-Ameri, who is also the President of Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud Islamic University, conferred degrees and gold medals to the female graduates. During the ceremony, 147 gold medals were bestowed upon the top-performing female students. The convocation saw 26992 graduates, including 12817 male and 14715 female students, receiving degrees, out of which 739 were PhD degrees. The two-day event celebrated the academic achievements of the students with grandeur.
In his address, Dr. Al-Ameri expressed his congratulations to the graduates and emphasized the importance of their transition into practical life with the degrees they have earned. He highlighted the leadership of Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi, President of IIUI, and the university’s progressive direction under his guidance. The Pro-Chancellor also remarked on the significance of the relationship between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, noting the scholarships offered by the Saudi Government and expressing his desire to strengthen educational ties internationally.
Rector IIUI, Dr. Samina Malik, also conveyed her congratulations to the students and outlined the university’s advancements in educational disciplines, curriculum revamping, and strategic planning under the leadership of President Alotaibi. She acknowledged the support of the Saudi Arabian government and the impact of Prof. Al-Ameri’s patronage on the institution’s growth.
President Alotaibi highlighted the university’s strategic initiatives, including the 2022-26 Strategic Plan aimed at modernizing teaching processes and enhancing the institution’s infrastructure and academic excellence. He thanked the Saudi government for its support, especially for sending Saudi faculty to teach at IIUI, and lauded the completion of the Campus Management Project, which aims to digitize university operations.
The Vice President of Academics, Prof. Dr. Abdul Raheman, expressed his gratitude towards the IIUI leadership and the collective efforts that contributed to the success of the convocation.
