Faisalabad, April 20, 2023 (PPI-OT): Department of English Language and Literature organized “Islamic Poetry Competition” on 14th April, 2023. Renowned Poetess Ms Uzma Naqvi graced the occasion as the chief guest and the judge. The students recited their poetry in Urdu and English. Their efforts were highly appreciated by the Chief Guest.
Documentary on World Poetry Day by Students of BS English 6th semester was also played. In Urdu Islamic Poetry Competition, Mehreen from BS Dental Technology got 1st position, Emaan Bint-e-Hanif from BS Interior design got 2nd position and Zainab Talib from BS English secured 3rd position. In English Islamic Poetry Competition students of BS English Areej Abid secured 1st position, Aanish Khalid got 2nd and Dua Batool secured 3rd position. Students were given prizes by the chief guest. She congratulated all the participants and advised them to keep on good writing.
Dr Nailah Riaz, Head department of English Language and Literature presented souvenir to the chief guest. The event ended with the recital of Ms Uzma Naqvi’s poetry.
