On 15th anniversary of Karsaz carnage, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari pledges to continue struggle for strengthening of democracy and vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto

Karachi, October 17, 2022 (PPI-OT):Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has paid tribute to the martyrs of Karsaz tragedy.

In his message issued on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the Karsaz tragedy, the PPP Chairman said that today reminds us the sacrifices of the leadership and workers of Party during the struggle to restore and strengthen democracy in the country. Both the leadership and workers fought so many heinous conspiracies and walked through the rivers of blood to accomplish the mission of democracy, equality, peace and prosperity in the country, he added.

Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that on October 18, 2007, the blood of 180 people was shed to sabotage the gathering of more than 30 lakh people present in Karachi for the historic reception of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.

He said that we should remember our martyrs on October 18 every year and share the grief of their families as well as inform our young generation about our history and the struggles and sacrifices of the generations before them. Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari further said that we have to teach the young generation that developing personal enmities in politics and breaking records of telling lies is not a struggle.

He reiterated his determination that the Pakistan People’s Party will continue to advance the struggle to strengthen democracy in the country, because the sacrifices of the martyrs of the Karsaz were given for the establishment of democracy and strengthening it. Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that bloodshed suffered by the democratic forces besides the torture, solitary confinements and imprisonments won’t deter the PPP leadership and workers from carrying on the struggle of our predecessors.

Former President Asif Ali Zardari’s message regarding the Karsaz tragedy

Karachi, October 17, 2022 (PPI-OT):Former President Pakistan and President Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians, Asif Ali Zardari in his message on the occasion of the Karsaz tragedy has said that the PPP fulfilled the mission of its great leader Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.

The PPP restored the 1973 Constitution in its original form, hoisted the national flag again in Swat, gave autonomy to the provinces, and gave identity to the people of Gilgit-Baltistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The poor and deserving women were made partakers in the society through Benazir Income Support Program. The 18th Amendment guarantees the country’s survival and integrity.

President Zardari said that our struggle is for employment of the youth, economic prosperity and social justice. The PPP completed Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto’s mission by giving power back to the Parliament that was stolen from it by dictators. A place such as Thar is contributing towards the progress of the country by generating electricity and illuminating the lives of the people.

Paying homage to the martyrs of the Karsaz tragedy, President Zardari said that their bravery, loyalty and steadfastness is exemplary. There is no other example of such a fearless act in political history, in which people sacrificed their lives to protect their great sister and leader. President Zardari said that democracy in the country today is owed to the blood of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and the thousands of courageous Jiyalas.

Conspirator against the country will be defeated: President Asif Ali Zardari 

Karachi, October 17, 2022 (PPI-OT):Former President of Pakistan and President Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians, Asif Ali Zardari has termed the recent statement by a conspirator against institutions and their heads as part of an international conspiracy whose main objective is to weaken Pakistani institutions. He said that the conspirator has become obsessed with lust for power.

President Zardari warned that all the actions of the conspirator who attacked the integrity of Pakistan and its institutions by taking dictations from across the border will be met with a befitting response. During the regime of this person, the institutions were badly used to fulfil his personal ambitions and the government is busy trying to repair the damage caused to the reputation of the institutions by this conspirator. The government will defeat every conspiracy of this person, President Zardari said.

CM Ch Parvez Elahi chairs meeting about Nishtar Hospital Multan incident

Lahore, October 17, 2022 (PPI-OT):Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi chaired a meeting at his office on Monday in which Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid presented an inquiry report about Nishtar Hospital Multan incident. Former federal minister Moonis Elahi, IG police, ACS (Home), Special Secretary Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department and others were also present.

In light of the inquiry report, the CM directed to suspend three Nishtar Hospital doctors, as many employees, and two SHOs over negligence. On his direction, the head of the anatomy department Prof. Dr Maryam Ashraf and demonstrators Dr Abdul Wahab and Dr Seerat Abbas, Umar Farooq SHO of PS Shah Rukn-e-Aalam Colony and Saeed Sial SHO PS Seetal Mari, hospital employees namely Ghulam Abbas, Muhammad Sajjad Nasir and Abdul Rauf have been suspended and removed from their posts.

The CM has also directed that action under PEEDA Act should also be taken against the negligent officials as such a treatment with corpses is unacceptable. The more this incident is condemned the less it would be as the Islamic teachings about the burial of dead bodies is obvious. An inhuman act has been committed by throwing dead bodies on the rooftop and disrespect to corpses is intolerable, he further said.

CM Ch Parvez Elahi felicitates Imran Khan on election success 

Lahore, October 17, 2022 (PPI-OT):Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi congratulated PTI chairman Imran Khan and the successful candidates for their success in the by-elections.

In a statement issued on Monday, the CM said that in the political history of Pakistan, a candidate has never won six seats in the national assembly at the same time. Imran Khan’s victory is Pakistan’s victory and the results have proved that Imran Khan is the most popular leader of Pakistan, he said. The results are writing on the wall for the PDM as Imran Khan has clean-bowled the 13-party alliance.

The people have hammered the last nail in the coffin of the corrupt elements, he maintained. The people have full confidence in the leadership of Tehreek-e-Insaf and they have rejected the imported government by the power of their votes, he concluded.

CM Ch Parvez Elahi accords approval to Lahore Master Plan-2050 

Lahore, October 17, 2022 (PPI-OT):Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi has approved Lahore’s master plan-2050 and also consented to a one-window operation facility for expatriate Pakistanis in LDA’s housing schemes while chairing LDA governing body meeting. Now, overseas Pakistanis would be able to purchase plots from LDA in one day. The plot’s transfer facility would be provided to them on the same day.

Consultant Master Planning Mr David gave a detailed briefing on Lahore Master Plan-2050. Economic development, regional strategy and other issues were also discussed. Senior Minister Aslam Iqbal, Provincial Advisor Aamir Saeed Raan, former principal secretary GM Sikandar, Vice Chairman Sheikh Imtiaz Mahmood, parliamentarians including Sadia Sohail Rana, Malik Mukhtar Ahmad, Muhammad Atif, Aamir Riaz Qureshi, Tariq Sana Bajwa, secretaries, members of the governing body, DG LDA, MD WASA and others attended the meeting.

The CM said that the investment of expatriates was being secured. No bureaucratic snafu would be allowed to disturb them; he repeated and directed to materialise the Shahdara plan for starting the construction work.

Parvez Elahi said that the residential needs of the growing population would be taken into consideration in the master plan and those living in suburbs would be provided with the same facilities, as the city-dwellers, to reduce the burden in Lahore.

Large-scale planting will be done to establish buffer zones; he announced and further stated that the public transport system would also be developed on modern lines. Alongside this, interchanges and flyovers would be constructed to ease movement.

Instead of acquiring more agricultural lands, multi-storey building culture should be promoted, he added. It was also approved to construct the overhead bridge for motorcyclists in Azadi Chowk and the construction of a flyover and underpass to make Akbar Chowk signal free. Amendments in LDA Building and Zoning Regulation, 2019 were also approved.

It was further approved to negotiate with the parties to acquire land in Johar Town, Mouza Chak Mozing and resolve disputes in LDA Avenue-1. The constitution of a development sub-committee was also approved for LDA schemes. Parliamentarians would also be included in this committee.

It was agreed to solve the unresolved issues in Mouza Kharak, Khyber Block Allama Iqbal Town, and Gulshan Ravi according to the judicial and legal orders. The extension of the payment period for LDA Avenue-1 arrears and the lifting of the moratorium on development work for TEPA were approved. Regularization of pending plots in Johar Town and the LDA governing body’s previous meeting decisions were also approved.
