The UAE offered assistance when the rains had not yet stopped and no one had an idea of the damage caused: Chairman PPP and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari

Karachi, October 22, 2022 (PPI-OT):Pakistan People’s Party Chairman and Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs Bilawal Bhutto Zardari thanked the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for its generous assistance to Pakistan’s flood victims and said that in this difficult time, our brothers from the UAE have supported Pakistan.

Addressing the ceremony organized on the occasion of the arrival of the aid consignment by the UAE by sea to Karachi and handing it over to the Government of Pakistan and later talking to the media, the Federal Foreign Minister said that the relief activities of the government of the United Arab Emirates are currently ongoing in the flood-affected areas of Balochistan and other areas. “The UAE had offered assistance when the rains had not yet stopped and no one had an idea of the damage caused,” said Chairman PPP.

He said that during the recent crisis, the UAE built an air bridge between Pakistan, and sent aid supplies from all over the world free of charge. Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari appreciated the cooperation of the UAE during the 2005 earthquake as well as the 2010 and 2011 floods and said that the people of Pakistan value the goodwill of their brotherly Islamic country. He further said that the UAE ambassador is the person who took the first step to help the flood victims, adding that at a time when some people had forgotten the flood victims, the government and people of UAE stood with Pakistan.

Chairman PPP said that even today a large number of victims are facing difficulties and problems in the flood affected areas. He said that after the ongoing survey to estimate the damage caused by the flood, the government will talk to international organizations and countries, Pakistan has friendly ties with, so that rehabilitation work can be started in the affected areas.

In response to a question asked by a journalist regarding FATF, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that since he took over the portfolio, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is working diligently day and night to resolve the issue. He said that he is not a politician who believes in making unnecessary noise, rather he believes in hard work. He further said that it would be premature to say anything about the removal of Pakistan’s name from FATF’s grey list.

In response to another question, Chairman PPP said that there are many cases against Imran Khan with evidence. “Toshakhana is a very small case,” he said. “There is also a foreign funding case. Money has been taken from citizens of Israel and India. We hope for justice in other cases against Imran Khan.”

Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that until yesterday, Imran Khan was selected and pampered, and no institution had the courage to give decisions against him. But things are different now and this is the beginning as there will be many more such decisions.

“My advice to Imran Khan is to retire from politics, sit in Bani Gala and enjoy the rest of his life,” said Chairman PPP. “Let the country and nation live.” Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also said that Imran Khan used to say that he would never join hands with thieves, but now he himself has been caught stealing from Toshakhana.

He further said that the time for talks is over. If a politician or a political party wants to talk, the Parliament is a forum they can turn to. The Foreign Minister appealed to everyone, including the media, not to divert their attention from the flood victims. Ambassador of United Arab Emirates (UAE) Hamad Obaid Alzaabi and other dentaries were also present.

If a decision comes against you it doesn’t mean you start spreading chaos and anarchy in the country: Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety, Shazia Atta Marri

Islamabad, October 22, 2022 (PPI-OT):Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety, Shazia Marri on Friday said that the respectable and democratic way to respond to the ECP’s decision for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was to pursue legal way or stage peaceful protest instead of spreading chaos and anarchy in the country.

Addressing a news conference here along with the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, Faisal Karim Kundi, the federal minister said that the politics of disruption and anarchy has neither succeeded in 90’s nor will today. “The way PTI workers react to such decisions reflects that they lack any political training”, she added. She said that Imran Khan, as per his recent political history, has always called others as thieves and dacoits however the ECP has disqualified him after finding out his theft.

Shazia Marri said that, “If the decision comes against you it doesn’t mean that you start spreading chaos and anarchy in the country making the lives of the general public difficult. She said that Toshakhana case was just a beginning; there were many serious cases against Imran Khan one of which is foreign funding case in which the petition was filed by PTI’s own founding member not any other party’s member.

The legal team of Imran Khan took 8-10 stay orders while an application was also filed by PTI to keep its proceedings secret. “If Imran Khan is “Sadiq and Ameen”, why he was afraid and asked for keeping the proceedings secret”, she questioned. Shazia Marri said that the legal team of Imran Khan was confused and committed misdeclaration in Toshakhana case.

The minister pointed out that one of the “Cheetah” of PTI called the ECP as dishonest after today’s decision. “Imran Khan distributed sweets on the disqualification of others but the workers of PPP will not do the same today”, she added. She said that Pakistan People’s Party had faced many cases while it’s President, Asif Ali Zardari had faced 14 yearlong imprisonment with courage.

Referring to the Ring Road Scandal, Bushra Bibi involvement in corruption, Farah Gogi case, Shazia Marri said that Imran Khan himself had been declared as most corrupt and big dacoit. “His theft is also of a unique nature in terms of Toshakhana case,” she added.

On this occasion, Special Assistant to Prime Minister and Information Secretary of People’s Party Faisal Karim Kundi said that today the Election Commission of Pakistan has disqualified PTI chief Imran Khan in the Toshakhana reference under Article 63(1) (p) for making “false statements and incorrect declaration.

Former Prime Minister Imran Khan has been proven to be a certified thief today and it is the same Election Commission of Pakistan about whom Imran Khan said that he had never seen a competent person than him.

Faisal Karim Kundi said that Imran Khan is no longer remain the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, today while Shah Mahmood Qureshi is waiting for the realization of his dream, Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s dream may not be fulfilled and he remains the vice chairman. Imran Khan has not given anything to the country except for insulting and abusing others while various cases against PTI MNA and MPAs are also registered.
