President Asif Ali Zardari expresses deep sorrow over the martyrdom of five soldiers in North Waziristan 

Karachi, September 06, 2022 (PPI-OT):Former President of Pakistan and President Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians, Asif Ali Zardari has expressed deep sorrow and grief over the martyrdom of five soldiers, including a captain in North Waziristan.

President Zardari expressed sorrow over the martyrdom of Captain Abdul Wali, Naib Subidar Nawaz, Havaldar Ghulam Ali, Lance Naik Ilyas and Sepoy Zafarullah Asif. President Zardari extended condolences to the families of the martyrs. Those who patronize terrorists should also be made an example. The nation is proud of the brave men of its army, President Zardari said.

Overseas Examination Guidelines and Demo Test Schedule – Spring 2022 Final Term

1. OVERSEAS EXAMINATION RULES AND REGULATIONS

Overseas students shall adhere to the rules and regulations for the Overseas Examination from the following link:

2. EXAM APPLICATION AND PRE-REQUISITE SOFTWARE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

Overseas Exam Software and related materials have been made available for download. Please make sure to install the latest exam application available on the link given below. Students must follow the sequence of instructions given below for smooth and error-free installation:

IMPORTANT NOTE:

Do not use an office Windows system and internet connection with administrator restrictions/policies.

Use a personal desktop or laptop with a personal internet connection (preferably 4G or 5G mobile internet for a stable connection).

Use only a Windows 10 (64-bit) system equal to or above version 1909.

For MAC users the exam application is not compatible with the MAC Operating System. However, a student may Dual Boot their MAC system with a Windows Operating System by following the instructions mentioned in the given link https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201468

Note: Use of Virtual Machine Software is strictly prohibited.

Uninstall antivirus applications and disable the windows firewall before installation.

System default language MUST be English (United States).

3. FOR DEMO TEST

An icon of VUTES will be visible on their desktop after the installation of the VUTES exam application. Please double-click the icon to run the demo test. Use the student ID as a login and password for logging into the exam application to take a demo test. For example,

A student may test their installation by joining any of the following sessions FROM (Sep 06, 2022) to (Sep 15, 2022), during the specified session timings (i.e., as per Pakistan Standard Time) as mentioned below:

Session 1: 08:00 AM to 10:00 A.M

Session 2: 11:00 AM to 01:00 P.M

Session 3: 02:30 PM to 04:30 P.M

Session 4: 05:00 PM to 07:00 P.M

Session 5: 07:30 PM to 09:30 P.M

After completing the demo test, the student must confirm their installation status by clicking the link “Click here to confirm the installation status” given on https://qb.vu.edu.pk/login.aspx

NOTE:

The Login ID and password mentioned on the date sheet will only be accessible during the actual exam time (i.e., according to Pakistan Standard Time).

There are no invigilators present during the demo sessions, so no need to reply to the messages during the demo.

4. DAY OF EXAMINATION:

Please observe the following guidelines during the examination:

The timings mentioned on the date sheet are as per Pakistan Standard Time (PST).

Log in to the exam software VUTES 15 minutes before the actual paper time with the credentials printed on the date sheet.

Send the invigilator the TeamViewer’s auto generated ID and Password in the chat box for remote invigilation.

The system’s microphone must be enabled.

Attendance will be marked after the system inspection is completed by the invigilator.

Admissions to Bachelor, Master Degree Programs for Academic Session 2023 at SU, its campuses to start from September 10 

Jamshoro, September 06, 2022 (PPI-OT):The admission committee, University of Sindh Jamshoro has decided to start online registration for admissions to the bachelor and master degree programs for the academic year 2023 from September 10. In this regard, a meeting was held under the chair of the Vice-Chancellor Professor (Meritorious) Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro, in which all the members of the admission committee participated.

The meeting said that the online registration for admissions to bachelor and master degree programs for the academic year 2023 will start from September 10, which will continue till October 9, 2022. Similarly, the entry test for admissions to bachelor degree programs will be held in three phases i.e. on November16, November 23 and October 30, 2022.

The first provisional merit list will be displayed on November 10, the second merit list on November 25 and the third provisional selection list on December 5, 2022. The classes of the new academic session will commence from January 2, 2023. Earlier, the Director Admissions Dr. Ayaz Keerio gave a detailed briefing about the preparations and admissions to the members.

On the occasion of Defense Day, a special function was organized in IUB to pay tribute to the martyrs of the country

Bahawalpur, September 06, 2022 (PPI-OT):A special ceremony held in the Islamia University of Bahawalpur to pay tribute to the martyrs of the country. On the occasion of Defence Day Vice-Chancellor, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur Engr. Prof. Dr. Athar Mahboob said in a message. We celebrate defence day as Pakistan Day. On this day, September 6, 1965, our brave forces crushed the evil intentions of the enemy. The special feature of the 1965 war was the spirit of ideal love of the Pakistan Army and the people of Pakistan. This love enabled us to defeat an enemy many times bigger than us.

Today, there is crucial need to awaken and energize this spirit again. Pro-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Naveed Akhtar said that today reminds us of our martyrs and on this day the soldiers of Pakistan Army laid down their lives. Deputy Commissioner Bahawalpur Zahid Parvez Warraich said that we should all play an active role to fulfill their children’s education and other needs. The war of 1965 was the first war of Pakistan in which the soldiers of the Pakistan Army gave their lives and this is still going on. We should take care of their families as much as possible.

Focal person Prof. Dr. Abdul Wajid Khan, Chairman, Department of Media and Communication Studies gave the welcome speech and thanked all the guests. He said that Pakistan is still fighting an economic war and we all have to free Pakistan from this war. Prof. Dr. Sheikh Shafiq-ur-Rahman, Dean Faculty of Islamic Learning told about the high position of martyrs in the light of Quran and Sunnah. Prof. Dr. Rubina Bhatti, Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences paid tribute to the families of all the martyrs and highlighted the spirit of martyrdom and harmony among the students.

Speaking on this occasion, Dr. Muhammad Abid, father of martyred Capt. Hassan Abid, said that Shaheed Capt. Hassan Abid was born in Bahawalpur, he got commission in Pakistan Army in 2002 and participated in many operations after PMA long course. . On January 8, 2011, he was martyred while fighting bravely in a battle and was awarded Basalat medal. Capt. Sohail Akbar’s father Akbar Bhatti said that Capt. Sohail Akbar was born on December 11, 1979 in Bahawalpur and he got commissioned in Pakistan Army on October 14, 2001.

He was an expert and experienced pilot in the Pakistan Army and he showed his bravery in Operation Al Mizan and Operation Rah Rast and flew the helicopter for 300 hours in these operations. On July 3, 2009, this iron man achieved martyrdom during a difficult and risky operation. In honour of his courage, steadfastness and professional skills, he was awarded the Basalat Medal. Wing Commander Khurram Samad’s wife Shaista Khurram said that Wing Commander Khurram Samad was born on June 18, 1976 in Karachi and died in Pakistan in 1995. Commissioned at Air Force Academy Risalpur and posted at Mianwali where he mastered flying Miraj aircraft.

On June 3, 2014, during a flight, his plane suffered from a technical problem and he was martyred saving the plane from falling on the population with great skill. In this way he saved the lives of hundreds of people. In recognition of their bravery and martyrdom, the sitare-e-Basalat was awarded to him. On this occasion, the students saluted the martyrs and veterans with special mime, national songs and sketches. The event was hosted by Agha Sadaf Mehdi, Senior Producer Campus Radio.
