SCP Lawyers’ Delegation calls on CM Ch Parvez Elahi

Lahore, September 27, 2022 (PPI-OT):A delegation of Supreme Court lawyers led by Sen. Barrister Ali Zafar, Abid Zubairi and Imtiaz Rashid Siddiqui called on Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi at his office and discussed different matters. Former federal minister Moonis Elahi, Advisor Amer Saeed Raan, and Hasaan Niazi Advocate were also present.

The CM announced that lawyers’ colonies would be established in every tehsil and district of the province adding that lawyers and their families would also be provided free medical facilities equal to gazetted officers. He also announced the restoration of the public defender act without any delay and added that around 1500 lawyers would be accommodated through this Act.

The CM announced the construction of a parking plaza near the Shah Chirag building and a service structure for the public prosecution department. Parvez Elahi further announced the repair of the Punjab Bar Council and hostel buildings and cited that the PBC building was completed in his last tenure. I have always prioritized the welfare of the legal fraternity and issues of Supreme Court lawyers would be resolved on a priority basis; the CM declared and added that practical work would be visible in the next few days while his doors are always open to the lawyers’ community.

Amir Saeed Raan mentioned that the design of the parking plaza was approved in 2017-18. Ali Zafar and others thanked the CM for the solution to their problems and noted that the work done by Parvez Elahi in his last tenure is still remembered by the people. You have done a lot of work in a short period, they further said.

Imran Khan’s role has remained shameful in terms of helping flood hit people: Shazia Atta Marri

Islamabad, September 27, 2022 (PPI-OT):Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social safety and Information Secretary of PPP-P Shazia Atta Marri has said that Pakistan Tehrek-e-Insaf’s Chairman Imran Khan is looking worrisome by seeing the international prestige and honour of the Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari who revived and strengthened diplomatic ties with the world’s countries and urged them for extending their support and help to flood affected people of Pakistan. She said that ambassadors from various countries came to Pakistan and they visited different flood-affected areas on appeal of Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and they assured help and support for the flood affectees and she termed it as a biggest success of the Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.

This she said in a statement issued hereon today. She said that Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif was not asking the world’s countries for helping him but for the rehabilitation and help of the rain and flood affected people of the country while Imran Khan as Prime Minister was asking the world’s countries for donations for his business enterprises. Shazia Marri vehemently said that PTI Chief Imran Khan Niazi’s politics is based on abusing and leveling blames on his opponents and country’s institutions.

The enemies have also expressed their sympathies on catastrophe resulted due to heavy rains and flash floods, but Imran Khan’s role was remained shameful in term of helping flood hit peoples. Imran Khan tried to sabotage the process of aid being sent by the world’s countries and international organizations for flood victims in Pakistan.

She said that we have believe in Almighty Allah and hoping that we will come out of this difficult time of floods by providing relief to flood victims. Federal Minister Poverty Alleviation and Social safety said that Benazir Income Support Program is a great gift of former President Asif Ali Zardari to the poor to poorer people and Benazir Income Support Program provided timely relief and financial aid to the flood victims.

PU CEES marks World Tourism Day

Lahore, September 27, 2022 (PPI-OT):In connection with the World Tourism Day, Punjab University Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management at College of Earth and Environmental Sciences organized an event with the theme of “rethinking tourism” on Tuesday. A bunch full of activities including presentations, arts competitions, quizzes and others exciting activities regarding awareness about tourism were the part of it.

Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab Mr Umar Sarfraz Cheema, Principal CEES Prof Dr Sajid Rashid Ahmad, Masood Ali Khan, Rana Tahir, Dr Muhammad Kamran, faculty members and a large number of students were present on the occasion.

The speakers were of the view that tourism is not only visiting places, but in fact gathering information, knowledge and skills of different places locally and globally to benefit each other and empower diverse communities to collaborate for a better world. Umar Sarfaraz Cheema briefed about the government policies related to sustainable tourism while Masood Ali Khan shed light on tourism potential of Pakistan. In his address Rana Tahir described the role of TDCP to promote tourism in Punjab.

Prof Dr Sajid Rashid said that the interest and enthusiastic participation of the students reflected that the tourism industry was surely going to have a strong support of students equipped with knowledge and information required for tourism industry being delivered in academic programs. The students pledged for a strong support to take this industry to a high level ahead. Mr Rashid said that the United Nations World Tourism Organization, the global body responsible for tourism, has been celebrating tourism day since 1980.

He said that the International Day of Tourism this year will focus on re-imagining the sector’s growth, both in terms of size and relevance. He said that the key theme of year 2022 is EDI that is equity, diversity and inclusion and PU is already well operational these EDI indicators. The students of Tourism and Hospitality management will try to promote these EDI with rethinking of tourism.

CM Ch Parvez Elahi’s message on the World Tourism Day

Lahore, September 27, 2022 (PPI-OT):Chief Minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi said that Pakistan has an abundance of beautiful places, tourist spots and places of religious importance. In his message, the CM added that tourist spots of Punjab are attractive to tourists and added that the tourism sector not only promotes local culture but also strengthens the national economy while creating job opportunities.

He said that the purpose of celebrating this day is to promote tourism culture in the province as the motto of world tourism day-2022 is ‘rethinking tourism.’ New tourist spots were being introduced along with the provision of facilities as the tourism sector is an important source to earn foreign exchange. We should also commit that the rewards of economic development would be devolved to the impecunious strata at the grassroots by promoting tourism in the country, he concluded.

World Patient Safety Day Celebrations in RTEH Muzaffargarh

Karachi, September 27, 2022 (PPI-OT):World Patient Safety Day was celebrated in Recep Tayyip Erdogan Hospital Muzaffargarh under the theme “Medicine without Harm.” The aim is to create global awareness about the harm caused by medicines due to unsafe practices and to improve drug safety. In this regard, Quality Improvement and Patients Safety team (QIPS) organized a webinar, staff training, and a rally. Doctors, nurses, and hospital support staff participated in these activities.

Teams from QIPS, CRD, Pharmacy, and Nursing visited the hospital wards and informed the patients about the use of medicines and precautions. QIPS also conducted a campaign to educate outdoor patients about medicines. The patients who consumed medicines from pharmacies were informed about their usage, storage, and harm.

On this occasion, the Head of RTEH Muzaffargarh, Dr. Irfan Javed, said that from pharmaceutical companies to doctors and pharmacists, it is their responsibility to fulfill their commitment to ensuring the right medicine is provided to the patient. The prescribing doctor should complete the diagnosis and research and prescribe the exact prescription for the disease. The pharmacist is also responsible for making the patient fully aware of medicine usage, storage methods, advantages, and disadvantages while dispensing the medicine.
