Karachi, December 31, 2021 (PPI-OT):Aisha Aijaz (Head of HR and Career Services at KSBL) recently conducted a session with our MBA students briefing them on how to approach assessment centers. During the interactive session, she talked about tips and tricks to answer general questions, in the assessment process. She also talked about answering questions in a case study as that is a critical component in an assessment center.

Dua for Security and Stability of country in Faisal Masjid

Islamabad, December 31, 2021 (PPI-OT):A special prayer for the security and stability of the country was arranged at the Faisal Masjid in connection with the New Year after Friday prayer. Dr. Muhammad Ilyas, Director General Dawah Academy of International Islamic University (IIU) led the Friday prayer. On the occasion of the New Year, he urged worship and prayers for the betterment and peace in the coming year. He stressed that whether it is the beginning of the Gregorian year or the beginning of the Islamic year, at the beginning of each year, Muslims should arrange prayers and worship to please the God Almighty. “Today is the day we need to promote peace, brotherhood and tolerance,” he said.

On this occasion, Dua for the salvation of the departed souls of mothers of National hero and famous cricketer Shoaib Akhtar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Malik Amir Dogar and Senator Ayub Afridi was also held. Apart from the bereaved, other prominent political and social personalities including Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser, Railway Minister Azam Swati, Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri, and President Islamic University Dr Hazal Hamood Al-Otaibi also attended the occasion.

Hostel 5 wins Hostel Employees’ Cricket Tournament 

Islamabad, December 31, 2021 (PPI-OT):Team of hostel 5 clinched the title of Hostels’ employees cricket tournament as it defeated team of hostel 4 in the final. The cricket tournament was organized by Provost office in which 8 teams from hostels participated. 6 teams were from new campus hostels and 2 teams are included from Kuwait hostels Faisal Masjid Campus.

The winner trophy was collected by the captain of team of Hostel 5 Mr. Akaabir, while runner up award was collected by Mr. Talha from the Chief Guest of the ceremony SP police, Mr. Fida Muhammad. He also awarded medals to the captains of all the participatory teams. He said IIUI is one of the prestigious institutions and it has many distinctions. He also stressed that sports activities must be promoted as these are vital for mental and physical health of youth.

On the Occasion, Principal Medical Officer, Dr. Khalil ur Rehman also spoke who highlighted the importance of the sports activities. He appreciated the initiative of Provost office. Provost male, Dr. Abrar Anver thanked the honourable guests for attending the event and reiterated his resolve that his office will continue to organize such activities. He said Provost Office is thankful to employees and management for keen interest in this healthy activity.

He also appreciated the efforts of Provost Office’s officers and staff members for making this event a success. Incharge P and PR Nasir Farid also spoke on the occasion and appreciated the efforts of the Provost Office. On the occasion, Mr. Khalid Chaudhary was awarded best organizer award for his efforts for the success of tournament.

In the ceremony, Assistant Director Sports Provost Office, Khalid Chaudhary, Assistant Director Hostels Ali Rafie and other staff members of Provost Office were also present. Best batsman award of tournament was won by captain of winner team Mr Akaabir, while best bowler was Mr. Awais. Mr. Muhammad Ramzan was declared best fielder of tournament.

Submersible Water Pump Project Sindh 

Karachi, December 31, 2021 (PPI-OT):As the part of Alkhidmat Clean Water Project aiming to provide communities access to drinkable clean water for household, Alkhidmat Foundation Sindh Chapter with the financial support of charitable people has initiated a Submersible Water Pump with Water Storage Tank at Kakrariyo Mithrio Bhatti Islamkot Tharparkar, Sindh. As many as 35 Families will benefit from this water project on a regular basis.

National Assembly leaves entire agenda unaddressed

Islamabad, December 31, 2021 (PPI-OT):The National Assembly did not address its agenda on Friday and was prorogued sine die, observers Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN) in its Daily Factsheet.

Following are key observations of the proceedings during sixth and last sitting of the 39th session:

Members’ Participation

The National Assembly met for 13 minutes.

The sitting started at 11:33 am against the scheduled time of 11:00 am.

The deputy speaker chaired the entire sitting in the absence of speaker.

The leaders of the house (Prime Minister) and the opposition did not attend the sitting.

As many as 51 (15 percent) lawmakers were present at the outset and 89 (26 percent) at the adjournment of the sitting.

Four minority lawmakers were present.

Output

The House did not consider legislative agenda, seven reports of the standing committees and six statutory reports.

Representation and Responsiveness

The House neither observed question hour nor took up two calling attention notices.

A motion of thanks to the President for his address to both Houses and a motion under Rule 259 were not taken up.

Order and Institutionalization

The session was prorogued sine die.

Transparency

‘Orders of the Day’ was available to legislators, observers and public.

Attendance of lawmakers was available to media and observers.
