University of Sindh to Hold Seminar on Protection Against Workplace Harassment for Women

Jamshoro, An awareness seminar titled “Protection against Harassment of Women at the Workplace” will be held at the University of Sindh on April 29, organized by the university’s Anti-Harassment Cell. The seminar will focus on educating students and staff about anti-harassment laws and providing information on related issues.

According to University of Sindh, the seminar will feature speeches from female officers of the Federal Ombudsman Secretariat, including the Regional Head of the Ombudsman Secretariat, Sindh Sabiqa Shah, Assistant Registrar Ufifa Samu, and Assistant Law Officer Alia Sheikh. The Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Meritorious) Dr. Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro, will deliver the welcome address.

The seminar is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. at the Institute of Biochemistry. It will address the issue of harassment against women in the workplace, offering guidance on existing laws and resources to protect against such behavior. The event aims to raise awareness and promote a safer environment for women in academic and professional settings.

The seminar will conclude with a question-and-answer session, providing attendees with an opportunity to engage with the speakers and seek further clarification on anti-harassment policies. Following the session, commemorative shields will be distributed.
