University of Sindh Hosts Exhibition Showcasing Engineering Research Projects and Posters

Jamshoro, The Faculty of Engineering and Technology at the University of Sindh organized an exhibition showcasing more than 25 research projects and posters by MPhil and PhD scholars. The event aimed to highlight innovative engineering solutions and foster academic-industry collaboration to address local industrial problems and social issues.

According to University of Sindh, the exhibition featured research projects and posters from MPhil Information Technology and Data Science and PhD Information Technology scholars. The participating scholars presented their work as part of their academic curriculum for the year 2023. The projects offered simple yet innovative engineering solutions to issues faced by local industries, demonstrating the potential for academic contributions to industrial development.

Experts from Sindh and Mehran Universities, including Dr. Badar Munir from the Department of Telecommunication at Mehran University, Dr. Mohsin Memon from the same university’s Software Engineering department, and Dr. Yasir Arafat and Dr. Gulshir Laghari from the Institute of Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Sindh, reviewed the projects and posters.

Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Dr. Lachmandas Dhumija, emphasized the need to promote technical education in the country. He expressed satisfaction with the quality and creativity of the research projects, noting that they presented practical solutions to industrial problems and addressed social issues through their posters.

In addition to the Dean, other notable attendees included Dr. Shahzad Ahmed Memon, Director of AHS Bukhari Post Graduate Center of Information and Communication Technology, along with other faculty members. During the ceremony, commemorative shields and certificates were awarded to scholars with the most successful projects and posters.

The exhibition illustrated the potential for engineering scholars to contribute to the development of local industries and highlighted the importance of academic-industry partnerships in fostering innovation and solving real-world problems.
