Bulgarian Ambassador visits Punjab University 

Lahore, December 07, 2021 (PPI-OT):Bulgarian Ambassador Irina Gancheva visited Punjab University and called on Vice Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmad Akhtar while Director External Linkages Dr Sobia Khuram and others were also present on the occasion. Various issues of mutual interest were discussed during the meeting.

Addressing the meeting, PU VC Prof Niaz Ahmad said that there was need to promote bilateral relations among higher education institutions of both the countries. He said that there should be exchange of teachers and students among the universities of both the countries. Irina Gancheva said that they want to strengthen relations between the two countries at national and public level.

Punjab University officers, employees protest IJT hooliganism

Lahore, December 07, 2021 (PPI-OT):Hundreds of Punjab University officers and employees observed black day and strike at their offices and took out a protest rally outside Vice Chancellor’s office against the vandalism of Islami Jamiat Talaba. The senior officers of administration and employees were wearing black bands on their arms and holding placards inscribed with slogans against the hooliganism of IJT.

PU Vice Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmad came out of his office to cool down the protestors and said that he had taken up the issue with Punjab Chief Minister, Chief Secretary, Secretary Higher Education and top officials of Punjab police. He said that any attempt to sabotage the peaceful academic atmosphere of the campus would be dealt with iron hand and all those involved in violent activities would not be spared at all. He asked the protestors to join their duties and let the administration take a stern action against the culprits as per law.

Little Warriors of Indus Kay Sitaray celebrate the First Annual Sports Day 

Karachi, December 07, 2021 (PPI-OT):Indus Kay Sitaray – Indus Hospital and Health Network’s (IHHN) hospital-based school – was established for pediatric patients. The school held its first annual sports day on Tuesday, December 7, 2021. It was a monumental event that celebrated the little warriors who had spent a significant duration of their childhood battling cancer and other deadly diseases.

The day took place on a gloriously sunny morning, yet the brightest thing in the event were the children’s faces that showed happiness and enthusiasm. The children running around, under adult supervision, participated in several activities, including races and puzzles. No child was left out, and there was an activity designed for everyone. The children enjoyed the spirit of competition and cheered each other on as the audience applauded their efforts.

Former Pakistani Cricketer Muhammad Shoaib, and Nudrat Imam, Principal of Shahwilayat Public School were the guests of honour. Amongst those in attendance were Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, Chief Executive Officer, IHHN, Dr. Muhammad Fareeduddin, Senior Consultant and Chair, Pediatric Services, IHHN. Faculty members from several departments also stopped by to show their support and became a part of the festivities.

The event concluded with a prize distribution where each child was presented with a toy and trophy. Dr. Bari Khan gave a speech where he congratulated the organizers for their tremendous efforts and praised the children for making this event a memorable day for everyone involved. Nudrat Imam thanked IHHN for inviting her to be part of this historic event. “I am proud of these children and would like to offer my sincerest thanks to the audience, Dr. Abdul Bari Khan, and Indus Hospital and Health Network for organizing such a wonderful event.”

Dr. Fareeduddin Ahmed said, “I am pleased to see that the children’s spirits were uplifted. The holistic approach we use to treat these children has ultimately led to this successful event. Their happiness and perseverance give us the strength and resolve to continue fighting for them. “Where there is a will, there is a way, and thanks to the Grace of Allah, we will continue to help these children,” he added. The event concluded with the media interviewing the little warriors, who have proven to be a beacon of hope and inspiration for all.

2021 Imperial Springs International Forum Opened in Guangzhou, China

GUANGZHOU, China, Dec. 7, 2021 /Xinhua-AsiaNet/– Themed “Multilateralism 2.0: Global Cooperation in the Post-Pandemic Era”, the 2021 Imperial Springs International Forum was scheduled from Dec. 5 to 6 in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou.

The event attracted over 150 guests from political, academic, and business circles in more than 30 countries, including about 30 former heads of state, heads of government, and leaders of international organizations, 60 internationally-renowned experts and scholars, about 20 foreign ambassadors and representatives of international organizations in China, to attend the Forum in a hybrid format both online and on-site. They took the opportunity for a vigorous exchange of views on multilateralism, global governance and cooperation.
