Spring 2024 Examination Guidelines for Overseas Students Announced by Virtual University of Pakistan

Lahore, Overseas students enrolled with the Virtual University of Pakistan for the Spring 2024 mid-term examinations must adhere to specific guidelines and schedule as detailed in the newly released Overseas Examination Handbook. The university has set the dates for the demo tests from May 18 to May 27, and students are required to participate in these at designated times, following precise technical setup instructions.

According to Virtual University of Pakistan, all overseas students are expected to follow the protocols outlined in the Overseas Examination Handbook. Students traveling to Pakistan for exams must notify the examination department a week before their departure and are mandated to appear physically at a local exam center with an updated datesheet. They cannot opt for an online examination mode within Pakistan. The setup for the exams involves specific technical requirements including the installation of VUTES 2.1.1, ensuring that the default language of their Windows-operated systems is set to English (United States), and using mobile devices as external webcams through the IRIUN application.

For the technical setup, students must uninstall any antivirus software that may interfere with the exam application and must also install two remote control applications, AnyDesk and AnyViewer, for invigilation purposes. Intel-based MAC users, who cannot run the exam application natively, have the option to dual-boot with Windows 10 or 11 as detailed in the university’s support instructions. The university also provides a YouTube tutorial to assist students in installing and setting up the necessary software and applications correctly.

The demo test, which serves as a preliminary check for both students and the system’s compatibility with the examination requirements, will be available over multiple sessions each day within the specified period. It is crucial for students to follow the precise login instructions provided for the demo tests and not use their datesheet login credentials.

On the examination day, students are required to follow a three-step process to ensure that their identity and system settings are verified by an invigilator through AnyViewer. This includes a complete system inspection and ensuring that the external webcam is placed correctly as prescribed. Violation of any examination rules as stated in the student handbook may lead to immediate cancellation of the student’s paper.

For further assistance and inquiries related to the examinations, students can contact the university’s help desk through various channels provided, including a dedicated phone line and WhatsApp number.
