Karachi, The patient and public involvement and engagement (PPIE) group at the Clinical Trials Unit of Ziauddin University convened on November 11th, 2023, at the Center of Biomedical Ethics and Culture (CBEC) located at the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation (SIUT). This meeting marked the first of two workshops dedicated to refining informed consent processes in clinical trials.

According to Ziauddin Hospital, the addition of a new member to the PPIE group has brought renewed enthusiasm for enhancing the consent processes at Ziauddin University. The meeting at CBEC signifies a step forward in ensuring ethical practices in clinical research, with a specific focus on informed consent, a critical aspect of patient rights and autonomy in clinical trials.
