UVAS Hosts 6th All Pakistan Literary Festival in Lahore

Lahore, The University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore’s art and literary society, Qirtas, recently organized the ‘6th All Pakistan Literary Festival’ (Muqabla Shair-o- Sukhan), a two-day event celebrating ‘Resistance Literature and the Present Era.’ The festival, supervised by the Convener of Qirtas, Dr. Rahat Naseer, and the Senior Tutor Office, was inaugurated by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nasim Ahmed at the City Campus.

According to University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Guest speakers, including Mr. Farnood Alam, Ms. Amina Mufti, and Mr. Ammar Ali Jan, engaged students with thought-provoking talks. Chairman Department of Parasitology Prof. Dr. Kamran Ashraf, Senior Tutor Prof. Dr. Ali Raza Awan, Mr. Ali Hamza, Dr. Sadia Nawaz, along with numerous faculty members and students, participated in the literary festival.

The festival featured various competitions, including Urdu Nazm, Ghazal, Afsana, 100 Lafzi Kahani, Ashra Punjabi Nazm, English Prose, Short Story, and Bait-Bazi. It also included an All Pakistan Mushaira and Sham-e-Ghazal. Students from different universities across Pakistan participated in these competitions, showcasing their literary talents.

The University of Punjab emerged as the winner of the contest, while Government College University Faisalabad secured the runner-up position. At the conclusion of the competitions, Dr. Rahat Naseer awarded shields to the winners. VC Prof. Dr. Nasim Ahmed lauded the efforts of Qirtas in successfully organizing the event, which highlighted the literary skills of students and celebrated the rich tradition of Pakistani literature.
